It was also a considerably cheaper option compared to Sony and Tamron equivalents, while also adding optical stabilization (my A55 doesn’t need it, but it was a welcome addition) and HSM (similar to silent motor on E-mount lens, and Sony’s SSM on A-mount). It would also add Phase Detect AF capability, as well as "AF Micro Adjust" feature to your NEX.įor lenses, you could look into Sigma 18-250 HSM OS for Sony A-mount. The adapter will be a one-time investment to expand into Sony A-mount lenses with full AF functionality (even with old screw drive lenses).
I have seen them sell for about and am considering one for self. My personal suggestion would be to invest in LA-EA2 adapter and that will open up possibilities.
